Rwamwanja: Acceptance and new beginnings despite trauma
Besides producing a documentary in Rwamwanja, a camp in Uganda primarily for Congolese refugees, I had the opportunity, alongside filming, to capture stories and photos that still stay with me today.
I was surprised by how openly personal experiences, including accounts of severe war crimes, were shared with me.
Giving up is not in these people's DNA. Despite critical infrastructure problems, they are building a new future from scratch and are now trying to put their past experiences behind them together.
